Understanding Your Experiences with Clarity

Understanding the reasons behind attention difficulties, impulsivity, restlessness, or challenges with organization can be an important step toward finding the right support. ADHD testing can help clarify your symptoms, explore how they affect your daily life, and determine whether they may be consistent with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

At Compassionate Healthcare & Wellness Center, we offer ADHD testing through in-person and virtual appointments. Our process includes standardized assessment tools and clinical review to help you better understand your symptoms and explore appropriate next steps. We strive to provide a supportive environment where you can discuss your concerns and receive individualized attention.

ADHD Testing Options: In-person and virtual appointments

Appointment Duration: Approximately 20 minutes

Testing Fees: $200 for telehealth and $250 for in-office appointments

Understanding ADHD Testing

ADHD testing is an assessment process designed to evaluate symptoms related to attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. It helps healthcare providers better understand your experiences and determine whether the available information is consistent with ADHD.

ADHD symptoms can affect different areas of daily life, including personal relationships, education, employment, and routine responsibilities. An assessment can help identify patterns in your experiences and provide useful information for determining appropriate next steps.

ADHD testing may explore difficulties with:

  • Attention and concentration

  • Organization and time management

  • Following instructions and completing tasks

  • Impulsivity and decision-making

  • Restlessness and activity levels

  • Managing responsibilities at work or school

  • Maintaining routines and daily responsibilities

  • Emotional regulation and interpersonal relationships

Because these experiences can overlap with other mental health concerns or medical factors, clinical review is important when interpreting symptoms. Your provider can help you understand the assessment findings and discuss whether additional evaluation may be appropriate.

What to Expect During ADHD Testing

Our ADHD testing process includes standardized assessment tools and a clinical review designed to determine whether your symptoms are consistent with ADHD. The appointment typically takes approximately 20 minutes and can be completed virtually or in person.

During your appointment, you will have an opportunity to discuss your concerns and participate in the assessment process. The information gathered helps your provider better understand your symptoms and consider appropriate next steps.

Standardized Assessment Tools

Standardized assessment tools help organize information about symptoms associated with ADHD. These tools can support the evaluation of attention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity and help your provider review your experiences systematically.

Clinical Review

Your provider reviews the available assessment information to better understand whether your symptoms are consistent with ADHD. Clinical review is important because attention difficulties and related symptoms can have multiple possible explanations.

Discussion of Next Steps

Following the assessment, your provider can discuss the findings and explain the next steps based on the information available. Additional evaluation or follow-up may be recommended when necessary.

The specific assessment and recommendations depend on your individual circumstances. ADHD testing does not guarantee a diagnosis, and further evaluation may be needed in some cases.

In-Person and Virtual ADHD Testing

Accessing an ADHD assessment should feel manageable and convenient. Compassionate Healthcare & Wellness Center offers both in-person and virtual ADHD testing options so you can choose an appointment format that suits your preferences and circumstances.

In-Person ADHD Testing

In-office testing allows you to attend your appointment at our Richmond, Virginia location. You can discuss your concerns with your provider in a face-to-face clinical setting and complete the assessment process in person.

This option may be suitable if you prefer direct interaction with your provider or feel more comfortable discussing your symptoms during an in-office visit.

In-Office ADHD Testing Fee: $250

Virtual ADHD Testing

Virtual ADHD testing offers the convenience of completing your appointment remotely. This option may be helpful if you prefer receiving care from home or have difficulty traveling to our office.

Your appointment includes the applicable assessment process and clinical review. Virtual testing must be appropriate for your individual circumstances and any applicable clinical requirements.

Telehealth ADHD Testing Fee: $200

If you are unsure which option is right for you, contact our office to discuss your preferences and determine whether a virtual or in-person appointment is appropriate.

ADHD Testing Fees and Payment Information

In-Office ADHD Testing

Important Payment Information

ADHD testing is a self-pay service and is not billed to insurance. Payment is due at the time of service.

Although our practice accepts a range of insurance plans for eligible services, ADHD testing fees are paid directly by the patient and are not submitted to insurance for reimbursement by our practice.

If you have questions about testing fees or payment arrangements, please contact our office before scheduling your appointment.

Understanding Your Results and Next Steps

Receiving clarity about your symptoms can help you make more informed decisions about your mental health. Your provider can discuss the available assessment findings, explain whether the information supports an ADHD diagnosis, and identify whether additional evaluation may be needed.

If ADHD is identified, your provider may discuss appropriate options based on your needs. These may include individualized treatment planning, medication management when clinically appropriate, behavioral strategies, organizational techniques, or other supportive resources.

If your symptoms may be associated with other factors, further evaluation or alternative approaches may be recommended. Understanding the possible explanations for your experiences can help guide decisions about appropriate care.

Recommendations are individualized and depend on your assessment findings, health history, symptoms, and treatment needs.

Who May Benefit from ADHD Testing?

You may wish to explore ADHD testing if ongoing attention or organizational difficulties are affecting your everyday activities or making responsibilities harder to manage.

Testing may be worth discussing if you experience challenges such as:

  • Frequently losing focus during conversations or tasks

  • Struggling to organize activities or manage your time

  • Having difficulty completing projects or following instructions

  • Experiencing restlessness or acting impulsively

  • Finding it difficult to manage everyday responsibilities

  • Noticing persistent patterns of inattention or impulsivity that interfere with daily functioning

These experiences do not necessarily indicate ADHD. Other conditions and circumstances can cause similar difficulties, which is why an appropriate assessment and clinical review are important.

If you are uncertain whether ADHD testing is appropriate for your situation, our team can help you understand the service and discuss how to proceed.
